Nottinghamshire Win First Game of Season
The first game of the 2007/2008 Inter County Season took us away to Northumberland where after a great performance by Notts Ladies (winning 5-1and 4-2) and steady results from the Men (6-6 and 7-5) we finished the weekend 22-14 victors securing our first win of the new season.
Match awards went to Leslie Allick (20.15), Richard Cooper (25.24), Julie Freshney (19.44) and Neil Birkin with a magnificent (31.77) and a 10 dart leg to his name.
Farewell to Forest Town
As many of you know, Notts have moved venue this season and will be playing all County games and Competitions from Sutton Town Social Club. On behalf of the commitee and the players, I would like to give a big thank you to Forest Town Welfare for supporting us for the last 8 years and express our gratitude for the hospitality of all the staff that worked so hard on our darts weekends.
Nottinghamshire Wins Division Three Title
The last game of the 06/07 season took us to Humberside, where we needed to maintain our eight point lead in order to be promoted as Champions. Although the game finished 19-17 to Humberside, the results of other matches went in our favour and we finished two points clear of West Midlands to be promoted as Champions into Division Two.
Match awards went to Sharon Beastall (17.20), Rob Trownson (27.83), Helen Harvey (20.04) and Chris Cooper (29.64).
Winners of the English National Singles Playoff
Congratulations to Helen Harvey and Jay Foreman who qualified in the knockout competitions held at Forest Town, to represent Nottinghamshire at the English National Playoffs.
Notts Players Reach Semis in Staffordshire Open
Congratulations to Chris Cooper and Helen Harvey who both performed well in the Staffordshire open on 3rd February. Chris reached the semi finals in the Mens Singles losing to the eventual winner Mark Robinson. Helen also reached the semi finals in the Ladies Singles competition.
That's My Boy! - Paul Harvey Reaches Semi in Filey
Congratulations to Paul Harvey who played fantastic darts at the Yorkshire Open at Filey. Paul reached the semi-finals of the Mens Singles competition and lost in the final of the Mixed Pairs competition, partnering Christine Readhead (Humberside).
Notts Players Caught in Pairs Scandal
Notts County players Mark Wilson and John Speed were caught last weekend, taking the words 'Men's Pairs' a bit too far! Poor Dawn and Julie. Well I hope for their sake that this unusual sleeping arrangement at least produced some good darts!
Jay Foreman Receives Both County Match Awards
Congratulations to Jay Foreman for his magnificent performance at Wiltshire, where he achieved both the 'B' and 'A' match awards for the weekend. Jay started the match in the 'B' with a 3-1 win and a 29.67 average, before playing in the 'A' and scoring a winning 28.55. (click here to see darts world submission...)
Helen Harvey Hits Top County Divisional Average
In the first county game of the season, Helen Harvey came back to form with a fantastic 3-2 win over Merryl Jarman from Devon. Helen hit an average of 23.95 and achieved the highest divisional average award. (click here to see darts world submission...)

Sutton Nomads Trophy Presentation
